"Peace amongst the plane trees, Les Pieux, France

In the first heatwave of 2026, we took the rib to France and stayed in the village of Les Pieux.  Jackdaws were building nests in the village roof tops and the church next to our apartment had a Black Redstart  singing his heart out from the spire.  The dense avenue of Plane trees, planted in so many French conurbations, provided much welcomed shade to paint under.
